Myrcene
Earthy and herbal, with a ripe-mango edge.
Strains with Myrcene as a dominant terpene — 3 in stock. The terpene shapes a strain's aroma and character.
Myrcene is the most common terpene in cannabis: in most analysed cultivars it takes first place by share of the terpene profile. It smells of soil, damp grass and ripe mango, and at high concentrations gives a recognisable heavy sweetness. It boils at around 167 °C, which means it is the first to go under too-hot drying or long warm storage, shifting the profile towards lighter citrus notes. This is why myrcene-forward strains are sensitive to the drying regime: the difference between 18 °C and 24 °C in the drying room is audible in the finished product.
